As you can tell we're all very excited around here for the launch of Version 12 the largest update to Second Voice ever! With these massive changes for how the app functions, we thought it best to write a dedicated article for enterprise's and how these updates will impact your use of Second Voice and new features like Smart Phrases! This article will include specific details relevant to enterprises; however, it is highly recommended to also read the Version 12 summary article linked above. Firstly of note is that Second Voice now relies on iOS and iPadOS 26 which will allow us to implement many of the new features listed in the article above and provide new technology and capabilities for us to use. We intend for a yearly OS requirement update to become the new standard for Second Voice on Apple platforms like with many other pieces of software. Apple devices are usually supported for roughly seven years from the date of release with major system updates, and often 2-3 more years of security updates only. You can read more about the changes in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 here: https://www.apple.com/ca/os/. The oldest iPhone family that currently support iOS 26 are the iPhone 11 family, along with the 2020 iPhone SE. The oldest currently supported iPads for iOS 26 are: iPad mini (5th generation), iPad (8th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation). Any of these devices or newer will be able to run Second Voice's latest updates for the duration it remains on iOS 26 (Though we recommend newer devices than those listed above to ensure compatibility for longer). Furthermore, Second Voice also makes use of Apple Intelligence, which powers our new Smart Phrases feature as part of Premium. You can learn more about Apple Intelligence here: https://www.apple.com/apple-intelligence/ or read the article above to learn more about how Smart Phrases works. Smart Phrases (due to relying on Apple Intelligence) is therefore only available on devices supporting it (this is separate from devices supporting iOS 26). The currently supported devices for Apple Intelligence (and therefore devices that will be able to use Smart Phrases) include the following:
iPhone 17 Pro Max A19 Pro & iPhone 17 Pro A19 Pro
iPhone Air A19 Pro
iPhone 17 A19
iPhone 17e A19
iPhone 16 Pro Max A18 Pro
iPhone 16 Pro A18 Pro
iPhone 16 Plus A18
iPhone 16 A18
iPhone 16e A18
iPhone 15 Pro Max A17 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro A17 Pro
iPad Pro M1 and later
iPad Air M1 and later
iPad mini A17 Pro
Some devices were excluded from this list, like Macs and Apple Vision Pro, as Second Voice does not natively support them. We understand that the requirements for use Smart Phrases are high and may require upgrades to your existing infrastructure and devices but we are designing this tool so that as we move forward several years from now, it will remain a viable option on all devices supporting Apple Intelligence (including these any anything newer). It still remains entirely possible to use Second Voice on any device supporting iOS or iPadOS 26 (as listed previously) without the ability to use the new Smart Phrases feature.
Billing is now managed through Apple's own in-app purchase processes (IAP's), which makes signing-up easier for individual users. If you do not feel comfortable configuring a user's Apple Account in your enterprise with Billing information to complete the monthly transactions, we totally understand. Enterprises can enrol multiple devices through the Apple Business Manager available at: https://business.apple.com/. Second Voice is a subscription IAP-based app; you cannot subscribe directly via Apple Business Manager. Please reach out to us to discuss enterprise rates directly, and we will then credit a number of licences to your organization (as previously agreed upon) for distribution via Apple Business Manager which makes it easy for you to download the app across specific devices and manage it's behaviour.
Apple has also provided marketing materials for the update for use by enterprise's in White, Black and Blue all of which are available via Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XePq8Dkkg0H5LpTrecyhHbgK4jp14Ppk/view?usp=sharing. Each coloured poster is given in the three different colours, QR codes are also provided in the same three colours with or without the app icon (we recommend using the version with the app icon if devices support it) as well as black and white versions of each Apple App Store download button (in SVG format) and a txt file with embeds if you wish to embed the information on your website.
We hope this helped
