Ducky Software Inc. Announces Second Voice Lite (SVL) for Android

Ducky Software Inc. is proud to introduce Second Voice Lite (SVL) for Android, powered by Google Vertex AI and Google Gemini.

Second Voice Lite is a streamlined version of The Second Voice Project, designed specifically for lower-end or power-constrained devices. SVL enables access to core Second Voice features while reducing system requirements, ensuring the technology remains accessible to as many people and families as possible.

Second Voice will continue to support all current versions of smartphones from most major device manufacturers. However, if your Android device was manufactured prior to 2020–2021, it may soon no longer meet the requirements to run the full version of Second Voice.

Users in this situation are encouraged to either:

  • Upgrade to a supported device (if possible), or

  • Use Second Voice Lite through an affiliated enterprise, with consumer availability expected later this year.

  • File an exception request to gain access to a beta and highly in development version of Second Voice Lite by sending an email to: ex.request-svl@ducky.software or follow the steps on the myDuck portal (More information releasing later this week)

Apple Platform Availability

Second Voice Lite (SVL) is currently unavailable for Apple platforms, including iOS and iPadOS, and there are no plans to bring Second Voice Lite to these platforms at this time.

Second Voice Lite was developed specifically for the Android ecosystem in order to support older or lower-powered devices that may not be able to run the full version of Second Voice.

Why Second Voice Lite Is Not Available on Apple Platforms

Apple devices generally receive longer software support lifecycles and consistent hardware performance across models. Because of this, most currently supported Apple iPhone and Apple iPad devices are capable of running the full version of Second Voice without requiring a lightweight alternative.

Second Voice Lite was therefore designed primarily to address the wide hardware range and fragmentation present in the Android device ecosystem, where many devices continue to operate with limited processing power, memory, or battery capacity.

Maintaining a separate lightweight version for Apple devices would provide limited practical benefit while increasing development complexity, so development efforts remain focused on improving the full Second Voice experience on Apple hardware.

Recommended Supported Devices
iPad

The following iPad models are recommended for running the full version of Second Voice:

  • iPad (10th generation)

  • iPad (9th generation)

  • iPad Air (5th generation)

  • iPad Air (4th generation)

  • iPad Pro (M2)

  • iPad Pro (M1)

  • iPad mini (6th generation)

These devices provide the processing power and memory required to run the full Second Voice platform and future updates.

iPhone

The following iPhone models are recommended for running the full version of Second Voice:

  • iPhone 16 series

  • iPhone 15 series

  • iPhone 14 series

  • iPhone 13 series

  • iPhone 12 series

  • iPhone SE (3rd generation)

Devices older than these models may experience reduced performance or limited compatibility with future Second Voice updates.

Users are encouraged to upgrade to newer supported devices or purchase compatible hardware second-hand if upgrading is not financially feasible.
